Poonch: A movie screening event was held in the Department of Geography, Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College Poonch, on the eve of International Girl Child Day, 2023 wherein students of the Department of Geography participated in large numbers. A brief discussion followed at the end of the event wherein different students participated and shared their opinions and ideas on the subject. The event and subsequent programme was moderated by Farzana Koser and Shazia Kouser, students of semester V, Department of Geography.
The event was followed by guest lecture on female feticide, delivered by Dr Gulshan Ara, Lecturer Department of Sociology, SKC GDC Poonch. While talking to media Ms. Sonika Sharma, Lecturer in Geography emphasized that the role of such academic activities is important in sensitizing our students. Certificates were distributed to the students who had participated during NAAC Peer Team visit 2022.
Dr
Mujahid Mughal, Head Department of Geography, appreciated students for
participating in large numbers and maintaining discipline during the event. He
congratulated teaching and supporting staff of the Department for playing
respective roles in carrying out such academic activities from time to time. Dr
Geetu Sharma, Lecture in Geography, extended formal vote of thanks at the end
of the programme.
