Poonch: A seminar on Disaster Management was organized by the department of Geography on December 03, 2022 wherein 13 students namely Shahid Nazeer, Muskan Sharma, Asiya Jabeen, Mussarat Nayeem, Mehak Khan, Mohd Nazam Khan, Parvaiz Ahmed, Mohd Musharaf Shah, Umar-ul-Rehman and Choudhary Ikhlaq Hussain gave power point presentations on different aspects of disaster management.
The seminar was moderated by Ruchika Sharma, a student of semester I, Department of Geography, SKC GDC Poonch. Bhanu Pratap, Sahil Sharma and Harsimran Singh actively participated in the management of seminar.
The seminar was graced by the presence Dr Zeba Manzar (Lecturer, Department of Zoology), Mr Masood Ahmed (Assistant Professor of Mathematics), Prof Tehseen Abbas (Head Department of Mathematics ), Miss Sonika Sharma (Lecturer, Department of Geography ) and Dr Rani Mughal( Head Department of Botany and Vice Principal, SKC GDC Poonch ).
Dr Mohd Ashfaq (Head Department of Geography, GDC Surankote) who was the key note speaker for the seminar, deliberated on different aspects of risk management with regard to public policy.
Dr Rani Mughal, appreciated the students and staff members of the Department of Geography for conducting such events and urged them to continue the such academic activities in future. While addressing the students, Dr Rani Mughal focused on the methods of dealing with the spotlight effect while being on stage.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Mujahid Mughal, Head Department of Geography SKC GDC Poonch.
