Quinn A. Clark

Quinn A. Clark is a doctoral candidate in the Religion Department of Columbia University in New York City, NY. He is currently based in Lucknow carrying out research on a Fulbright-Nehru research grant. His research examines Muslim saint shrines and the politics of ziyarāt (visitation) in the Lucknow metro area. As a work of historical ethnography, his dissertation attempts to trace historically the roots of the political and theological debates surrounding shrines and to understand anthropologically how these debates shape the symbolic status of these places as they are used to satisfy everyday needs.”
