Ozone Day Celebration in Department of Geography, GDC Poonch







Poonch: The Department of Geography in Collaboration with NSS unit, Govt Degree College Poonch celebrated World Ozone Day by organising a drwaing competition . On the occasion, Professor Mujahid Mughal and Professor Shamim Banday adressed the students regarding the same. The occasion was also graced by Professor Tarun Sharma and Professor Deepika Parmar. Professor Mujahid while speaking to the Pir Panjal Post said "this special day is held on September 16 to mark the day when the Montreal Protocol was signed. It therefore marks the 30th anniversary of the protocol". 

A seminar was organised on the occasion wherein around 10 students from different departments presented their papers on ozone depletion. "The programme was intended to spread awareness about the thinning of  atmospheric ozone which is vital for any kind of life on earth" said Mujahid.
